I am very blessed to have met my best friend and wife, Elyse, in 2000 soon after moving to China to teach English as a Second Language (ESL). My undergraduate degree in Elementary and Middle School education opened the doors to teach in China, while working towards my master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). After eight and half years of teaching ESL, one and a half years of Chinese language school and four years of marriage with our first child on the way, Elyse and I moved to the States in 2010. I now love connecting with the students at the local college through teaching in the ESL program. When we moved back to the States, we prayerfully considered our dreams and goals as a family and made decisions in line with those goals. It is one of our passions to encourage others in pursuing their dreams (or to dream again if they have forgotten how). While the time crossing cultures taught me a lot, I know that there is still much to learn, and it is exciting to learn along with my wife and kids and to join with you in our journey through 3rd Culture Living!
